Advice for Potential Doll Artist?
Post Body

I had an interest in dolls a long time ago. Lately I have been thinking about possibly making dolls as a way to bring in some income.

But since it would be an investment (in the materials and skills), I thought it would be best to check into it first, among those who have some understanding and experience with this type of doll.

So if it's okay, I'd like to ask:

If you collect reborn dolls, what do you look for, and what do you dislike?

If you make reborn dolls, what do you wish you'd known before starting out?

Lastly: I have some allergies and I have sensitivity to chemicals. One thing that deterred me originally was the paint fumes, baking the paint on, and things like that. I wouldn't want to use my kitchen oven for that, and I wouldn't or couldn't fill the place with fumes. I'm also hesitant about storing paint thinner or varnish. Are there less toxic ways of creating the dolls in 2023? Thanks for any help or tips!
