I recently put an end to things. I packed up my belongings and informed him that I was leaving because of his drinking and the continual disrespect I was receiving. The same night, I left. I informed him that I wanted to keep in touch with him since I loved and cared about him. Even this weekend, I consented to go to a movie that we had initially planned on seeing. The problem is that he continues to send me texts that begin with "babe" and end with "I love you," so I feel compelled to respond by telling him that I feel the same way because I still do, just not romantically (and he is aware of this). I should have responded something like, "I can't predict what the future holds," when he asked if it was forever as I was leaving since I didn't want to say yes and hurt him more. Advice?
