Throwaway for obvious reasons.
So this past week, I spent a lot of money ordering a custom video from a girl that I’ve been following for a few months. This was the first time I’ve ever ordered a custom video, and unfortunately, the video ended up being kinda subpar. I'm not going to name the account as she obviously put some effort into making it, but I have to admit that I'm feeling a little let down.
I really want to try again, but since this is a lot of money (for me), I wanted to come on here first and ask for some friendly advice from some creators so that I can hopefully improve my chances of getting a better result the next time around:
In your eyes, what separates a good customs request from a bad/frustrating one?
How much detail is too much detail? Do you prefer it if someone just lays it all out in one message, or is that too overwhelming and do you prefer a back-and-forth conversation?
Speaking of details, what are some common details that people tend to forget to include in the request but would be helpful knowing?
I'm curious to know what this whole process looks like from the creator's pov so that I know what to look out for the next time I make a custom request. Hopefully some of this information can be useful to other people who have been in my situation as well, and lead to more accurate assessments of a creator's custom content abilities.
