The key to that 2nd half performance from Atleti was the intense press and physical game all over the pitch. I feel like ManC's attack mostly comprise of smaller players with technical acumen. Feel like we should make the game physical, maintain higher intensity throughout, give them less time on the ball.. break fast in the counter (which we can definitely do with Vini, Fede and Benz). Rodri is the most physical midfield player but I believe Casemiro can neutralize him. The biggest threat will be De Bruyne. Maybe Fede should stay more central and everytime De Bruyne receives the ball, put Fede on him and possibly one more player. Doubling him everytime he gets the ball will possibly push City to go wide and if they go wide the problem is they dont have a poacher or target man in the box. They cant put in crosses since they dont have a forward who can be an aeriel threat inside the box. So it's either they will have to cut in or someone from the midfield will have to make a run behind. This will give some time for our midfielders to track back and check those runs.
This is just a personal opinion and I can definitely be wrong. I would love to see my fellow Madristas put in their thoughts. Hala Madrid!
