Do you think this summer transfer window is going to be the most crucial transfer season in recent memory?
Post Body

The last El Classico defeat was a reality check. Showed us that we lack depth in our squad, we lack tactical felxibility, we depend too much on Benzama, that we have a hole wide open on the right side of the defence and Alaba is not a long term solution to our CB pairing if he keeps loosing those aeriel battles left and right. It also showed that, simmilar to last years UCL game with Chelsea, KCM suffers with intense opposition midfield.

Even with all these in mind, this transfer window is going to be a pillar for a Real Madrid team for the future. Our last big budget transfers have gone terribly wrong. From the young players we brought in only Vini is performing, Camavinga is doing decent as well and time will tell how much he can flourish. But apart from them rodrygo has failed to replicate his hattrick in UCL esque performance. Reinier has been badly managed in Dortmund. Kubo is not thriving significantly. Other academy youngstars as Aribas, Blanco, Miguel have not been provided with enough minutes with the first team. There are plenty of red flags with how we have handled the transfers, with how we have handled first team integration of the academy players, and with how we have managed the growth of young prospects who are coming in to the club (its not like players like reinier and rodrygo came in cheap).

There are plenty of learning scope from the mistakes we have made in the past. We need to rethink our transfer strategy. In the recent years we have mostly bought young players who showcase good potentials. If we look at ManC's transfer policy we see that they have not spent on big names for most part and have focused on very good first team players who are on the way to be in the peak of their career. They have made very good 40-70 mil buys and have shaped them to be worldclass. Real madrid needs to find a solution with something likewise. Only bringing in loads of very young talents is clearly not working. We always run into the risk of hit or miss with these transfers and this need to change probably. I would say instead of a major overhaul through one summer what we really need to do is to wait for the right players and opportunities. In between the transitions we need to fully utilize every decent player we have at our disposal and provide good minutes to our subs so that we can keep their morale up and running. We need to find a way to slot in the academy players often with the main squad. There is a lot and lot of work to be done over the next few years. We can start by making amends of the past mistakes we have made in the recentl years. This transfer window can showcase that we have the right mindset and strategy to build our squad for the future. And honestly Mbappe is only just a beginning to everything and definitely not the end.
