Hello and thank you for your time. Long story short I and my roommate were falsely accused of burglary and served a warrant to serch my home. First they broke down my front door when they could clearly see me coming to the door. They beat on the door and immediately started breaking in. I was on the way to open the door the officer and I made eye contact but they just busted in my door anyway. Try rummaged through stuff and broke my closet door and broke the lock on my nightstand. I've had to spend $ to fix all that. Do I have any recourse on that? We were handed the keys to this friend of my roommates house and told to go get anything of value out so his baby momma wouldn't get it and sell it because the friend of my roommates knew he was going to jail. We did what he asked. His baby momma who didn't even live there and didn't have a key to the house decided to press charges on us for burglary. We had a witness there when the guy gave his keys and asked us to do this. After the law left I noticed a few things that I showed them that they did not take. I didn't want the stuff at my home in the first place so I called the detective who is also a neighbor and had him stop back by to finish seizing the stuff. He did not return within the 10 days required by law with an updated inventory list. What recourse do I have, what's my next steps? Please tell me he can now be fired, nothing would please me more.
