I know this has been asked a million times before, but I am asking this from the perspective of someone living in the USA on a work visa.
I am wondering that instead of renting, I should just buy a condo starting next year. I live in Houston and I am thinking of getting a condo near the med center. I know a lot of students live there, so renting out space would be as well. The plan is to live in one room and rent out the other room. I know it will be more work than renting, but my current roommate would still be willing to be my roommate later on as well, so I think I should be fine on that front. We are both single and do not plan on settling down any time soon.
I am also aware if the exorbitant mortgage rates, but also think there is no point trying to time the market.
Does this sound ridiculous?
