Banking in the OASIS

I rewatched "Ready Player One," and I started wondering about this. You can transfer your stuff to someone else in the OASIS. So, some enterprising corp (let's call them BankCo) could set up a system where you transfer your stuff to BankCo, and they hold it for a fee.

So, you transfer some of your stuff to BankCo and pay them the fee. Then, when you get killed, you only lose whatever you have on you at the time. Then, when you respawn, you go over to BankCo and get some of your stuff, so you don't have to start from scratch.

So are there banks in the OASIS? It seems like there would be a demand for this kind of thing.
