walking my puppy is miserable
Post Body

i just need to rant because i feel like iā€™m going crazy. i take my 6 month old keeshond aussie mix, dakota, on a walk usually once a day. i usually enjoy walking my other dogs because they are better outside of the house than they are in. they listen to me, do everything i ask of them. and then thereā€™s dakota. yes, he is only 6 months old, but he is almost 40 pounds and he acts absolutely insane. his problem for a bit was pulling, but i got him a front clipping harness. he is also insane when he sees people on walks. i think he is excitement reactive but he comes off as being agressive. but i know that he wonā€™t even hurt a fly. he is just very excited and VERY VERY loud. he barks and flips and goes crazy. now yesterday on our walk, we ran into a group of about 5 children under the age of 10. he was okay for the first kid who greeted him, but then started flipping out and acting how he usually does. they then screamed at him and ran away yelling, ā€œrun away before he bites us!ā€ which just really hurt. it made me loose hope on us being able to take a peaceful walk together.

now today, i accidentally clipped his harness on wrong which resulted in him freaking out and biting his leash even more, which heā€™s been doing more since we got the front clipping harness. i had hope that maybe todayā€™s walk would be better but yet again he barks and freaks out whenever we see people. i donā€™t want people to be afraid of him and i even had hope that maybe i could train him to become a therapy animal. but with how he doesnā€™t listen to me or look at me while weā€™re out as well as how he acts around people and other dogs, it just makes our daily walks absolutely miserable.
