Need Legendary Animals Free Roam Tips

I’m starting hunting Legendary Animals. I did a few legendary animals with Harriet. Now that i want to hunt legendaries on free roam. I’m struggling to find anything. Atm tryna hunt the Emerald Wolf. Looked at videos and try to understand but seems like im not getting any luck. Is there untold rules about free roam legendary hunting? I remember i did trader deliveries or bounty hunting. I was more “likely” to find legendary but i never bothered at the time. Now i try to find. I can never find any…
