Worth it to buy ZipZaps or find newer 1/64 option?

Hi everyone. In my childhood, I owned several ZipZaps from RadioShack. I ended up getting into video games heavily and got away from micro RCs for a bit, but I am interested in circling back for one or two of the ZipZaps I couldn't get back then. However, I recently passed on a collectible in a different realm due to lithium-ion battery degradation concerns, and I am wondering if I need to consider that here too due to ZipZaps being released in the early 2000s. Should I pursue other options in the 1/64 scale? I should note that part of the appeal is the cars' specific vehicle/character designs.
