Basic equipment list for a beginner

Hi folks. I recently built a PT boat with bass and plywood with the intention of putting some guts in it and taking it out on the lake. I have no background in making RC models. I’ve researched at least what motors to get. Beyond that, I assume a servo for the rudders, a transmitter and receiver, some kind of throttle control, and batteries. At the bare bones, what am I missing? What do I need to consider for battery power? And if yall are tired of newbs with newbie questions (understandable), what resources do you recommend for getting this info? Thanks!
