Well...I almost had a heart attack 3 days ago, when my screen started to shut down randomly. I went crazy, and start browsing around looking for an explanation (and that's why I'm writing this now: so if it happens to somebody, he can read this and calm down :) ).
When you look for answers for something about an imac, 9/10 times you will read something like
"your something-chipset is damaged! and its freaking expensive! why didn't you pay for the apple care?!"
...and you will start to hyperventilate. This is usual at the official forums: its weird for a mac to do something abnormal, so when it does its usually very bad business.
But not this time. I notice that if I turn down the brightness, the screen took more time between shut downs. And I was able to re-ignite the lcd by pressing the screen turn off keyboard sequence ctrl shift eject, and then click. So, I started to suspect the usb, were I had a hdd and the naga 2014. When I unplugged the hdd, the time between shut downs went even higher! ....And then, I remembered: Like 3 days ago the Razer Synapse went crazy (again), and didn't loaded my profiles...so I uninstalled it, try again, uninstalled again...and then it did worked. But a voice in my brain told me something went wrong. (and to burn things too) So I did a NPRAM reset (no good)...and finally a full system reinstall.
Now I have everything like I had, minus Synapse. And Everything works flawless, like always :) I'm ending my time machine backup, and then I'll try to install Synapse again...but, well, I'm almost sure Synapse was the cause of the failure. I only hope that it'll work this time :)
I almost died when I read about the $800 repair costs of the Logic Board (the oficial forums suspect) :?
