Newbie about to buy my first pair, look over my "timeline" for me?
Post Body

So I know there's no specific "timeline" for raw jeans but I figured I would run this by you guys and see what you think. So for some background info real quick I'm most likely going to buy a pair of unbranded or Gap 1969 jeans, mainly because I don't want to go all out on my first pair in terms of price. I usually wear a 33/34 waist (34 fits kinda loose on me) and 32 length. My favorite fitting jeans are my Levi's 514 slim-straight jeans. So here is my "timeline":

  • Buy Jeans (Unbranded/Gap 1969) one or two sizes smaller and a slightly longer inseam (so 32-33 waist)

  • Initial soak in bathtub if unsanforized (this part I'm a bit confused on because I've seen different people saying soak no matter what) and either wear jeans or don't, not sure on that part.

  • Wash with any detergent or will normal warm water work?

  • Hang dry

  • Wear as much as possible for around 6 months/until knee fades/whiskers/honeycombs start to show than was in bathtub again.

That's basically my plan after doing a bunch of research, but I figured I would run it by you guys anyways. So TLDR is there anything I'm doing wrong/should change? I'm also open to suggestions about which to buy (I'm pretty set on Gap 1969 and Unbranded but I'm easily persuaded) as long as its around/under $100. Thanks guys!
