So I know there's no specific "timeline" for raw jeans but I figured I would run this by you guys and see what you think. So for some background info real quick I'm most likely going to buy a pair of unbranded or Gap 1969 jeans, mainly because I don't want to go all out on my first pair in terms of price. I usually wear a 33/34 waist (34 fits kinda loose on me) and 32 length. My favorite fitting jeans are my Levi's 514 slim-straight jeans. So here is my "timeline":
Buy Jeans (Unbranded/Gap 1969) one or two sizes smaller and a slightly longer inseam (so 32-33 waist)
Initial soak in bathtub if unsanforized (this part I'm a bit confused on because I've seen different people saying soak no matter what) and either wear jeans or don't, not sure on that part.
Wash with any detergent or will normal warm water work?
Hang dry
Wear as much as possible for around 6 months/until knee fades/whiskers/honeycombs start to show than was in bathtub again.
That's basically my plan after doing a bunch of research, but I figured I would run it by you guys anyways. So TLDR is there anything I'm doing wrong/should change? I'm also open to suggestions about which to buy (I'm pretty set on Gap 1969 and Unbranded but I'm easily persuaded) as long as its around/under $100. Thanks guys!
