OK, wait, actually there won't be any monetary rewards, but... ...we're looking for people (or "devs") to join our project! Do you have experience in building Chromium OS on any platform and you know your way around the CrOS SDK? Then we need you! Honestly, we'd love to have some people joining in order to improve this port together with us. And anybody with prior experience in building Chromium OS and tuning overlays would be the perfect fit :-D You haven't built Chromium OS yourself yet? That's not a problem! Because we're also looking for: a "full-time" Netflix enablement hacker: we're saying "full-time" because we're constantly adjusting and improving various parts of our port, but we're not able to spend as much time as we'd like in order to finally get Netflix running. You might have seen the post in this subreddit, mentioning that Netflix support has been achieved within the Chromium browser under Raspbian - unfortunately things turned out to be not that easy for our OS: even if the required plugins are placed into the correct directory, Chromium OS won't pick them up. Other Chromium OS builds are having the same problem and only Neverware's Cloudready seems to have fixed this issue so far (see https://neverware.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/214608478 ). Therefore, code changes are most likely necessary, but luckily we will only have to follow what has already been done by other people. One example of this is this patch https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/tree/trunk/chromium-widevine.patch?h=packages/chromium . It does however take quite some time to implement this correctly in our build and test it accordingly, so if you would like to be the team member who focuses on this particular topic, contact us! Communication and coordination will happen via email and important technical discussions, troubleshooting sessions, etc. will take place on IRC. The team is spread out across the globe, which means we are in different time zones already, so location doesn't matter at all :) We're currently operating two Github repos, so go ahead, browse the code! https://github.com/tohipfortheroom/Chromium-OS-Overlays https://github.com/haggster66/Chromium-OS-Overlays Drop us an email if you want to be part of it: tohipfortheroom ATgmail.com / haggster82 Atyahoo.com Or Feel Free to PM Me for more information
