Use Monochrome LCD panel as terminal output

Hi guys,

I'm a noobie with the Pi (don't actually have one yet), and not great with electrics (yet). I was wondering if I bought one of the LCD Monochrome panels people sell and advertise for the Pi or Arduino, would I easily be able to get it to be the "main" device output. Like my screen to my desktop or something. I would like to see terminal output through there.

All the screens are advertised with fancy bitmap graphics and stuff, so I'm just checking.
