I know this thread is super old but you sound like my boyfriend! He is a big dog guy. My senior boy is reactive due to trauma prior to me rescuing him, the first week we started dating he got a bite to the face that drew blood, I felt so bad but he was totally understanding. Now Mikey sleeps on my bfs side the whole night, is more excited to see him come home than me (😭) but they are best of buds now and it's so sweet.
