As a mod team we have reason to believe that certain awards, particularly the "Wholesome" award, may be part of a scheme used by predators to "mark" posts (such as those involving minor posters) for other predators to engage with. You may have seen a noticeable uptick in the use of this award in the past several weeks. If you receive such an award on your post, or if you see such an award on someone else's, please be on the lookout for any rule-breaking or predatory comments and report them to us so that we can deal with them.

Additionally and relatedly, please keep in mind that invitations to private messages are not allowed on our sub in order to keep our community safe. The use of a "Wholesome" or other similar award on a post could be correlated with ensuing private messages from predatory users; please remain vigilant for these as well. As always, remember to report any abusive or harassing content or messages to the Reddit Admins for potential further action - as mods, our capabilities are limited to banning from commenting; we have no control over who is able to view our sub.
