On the h3h3 podcast with Markiplier and Ian Hecox, Mark said he got into doing skits simply because he wanted a change a pace from the constant gameplay videos. When I heard this, I immediately thought of the Grumps and how their, so far, horrible and then boring skits are being done under the same idea. However, Ian brought up that sketch comedy is extremely hard to do, with Ryan Higa (Nigahiga) being the only other popular sketch artist. And they've been doing it for years, so long that they were some of the first YouTube personalities. It just starts boggling my mind when the Grumps think they can just come in and expect their sketches to be recieved well. Even then, if the Grumps just want to change it up but clearly can't do it in sketches, why don't they do something else, or better yet, why not just stop making videos for a while? It's easy to think more videos means more revenue, but if they're genuinely not enjoying themselves, why not stop? What's the worst that could happen by taking a break?
Any thoughts on this?
