I am currently in a position with the very large organization that I work for where I receive notification of sexual assaults that occur within our workforce.
If you are accepting of abortion in cases of rape, then you need to seriously consider what qualifies as “rape”. Rape is not always for the first two minutes of a Law and Order:SVU episode.
Anytime sex occurs without the woman’s consent, it is rape. Lack of consent happens way more than you think. Most of these situations would never hold up in court. They routinely come down to a he said vs. she said situation. But just because it wouldn’t hold up in court or the woman doesn’t want to make a police report, doesn’t mean it wasn’t rape. This determination is something the woman, hopefully with professional medical or mental health support, can come to on her own without the courts or other official judging. This is an incredibly personal decision a person should be able to make in their own without having to provide proof to anyone else
In other words it should be left to a woman and her doctor.
