I live in Texas, where our government has failed extra hard. Recent the governor said that if you fall before x number of cases over x days masks are no longer subject to being mandatory in public places. But it's so fucked! Our police department straight up said they weren't going to enforce it, major grocery chains didn't want to risk violence towards their employees so they aren't allowed to say anything to all the spreadnecks walking around. This whole stupid pandemic should have been over with months ago, and it might have been if it weren't for all of the inconsiderate hillbilly assholes who live around here. There's seriously one facility to get a covid test in this county, and unless you have insurance it costs money. Bars are open, restaurants are packed, all of my friends have been going out and partying and acting like this whole thing is done, and now I can't even go out to fucking run errands without worrying about picking it up from some asshole. I'm so tired of this year, this election, and losing so many social connections. My husband and I decided that (even though we were VERY social people before) we aren't going anywhere. I'm not going to support the bars and restaurants that kept serving and not enforcing covid rules, I'm not going to my gym which didn't enforce the mask policy, I'm not going to the small business who's owner shares hateful propaganda on social media. I'm just frustrated and angry and fucking done with everyone.
