After 9 months of my absence on social media, particularly Facebook, I came back, and this is one of the shittiest decisions I’ve made in recent history.
First, the AI generated spam is ridiculous. Just a bunch of bullshit that I do not care about. I already deal with this on a daily basis in my email, and now that I’m trying integrate back into the world, I’m getting this trash.
Second, I was welcomed back by a couple people, but some of the rejected friend requests or “left on read” reminds me why I left in the first place. Everything that I thought was real and authentic wasn’t there. It’s really fucked with my self confidence and reality a bit.
I’m conflicted about either brushing past all that or deleting social media and becoming a goddamn hermit all over again.
FB is garbage and you should delete the account and move on. Other social networks are not as bad, though still toxic. FB is literally the worst of the worst.
