People on Reddit are assholes. Then when I call them out for being assholes, they call me an asshole.
Post Body

Why is it like this? lol. I regret posting almost every time I post on here ā€¦

Especially if you post an unpopular opinion. People will 100% just call you stupid and create side arguments about stuff not directly relevant to the thrust of your post to distract and make you look dumb. And then when you let them know you donā€™t appreciate it they call you unpleasant. lol.

Whenever I post, I really just want to engage in a thoughtful conversation about whatever I post about. I usually donā€™t really want to engage in all the hairsplitting academic arguments everyone always wants to get into. Thereā€™s always the ā€œI demand scientific studies proving every single element of your postā€. It always devolves into intellectual shaming and one-upping.

I just want to have a conversation yā€™all. I donā€™t want to write my PhD dissertation on here. I donā€™t want to fight with you. I donā€™t want to measure intellectual dicks.

Why are redditors like this? lol.
