Recommendations are BS

Graduate schools and jobs requiring recommendations are not cool. Also cover letters.
I graduated with a bachelors in 2018 (I don’t have professors to ask) and why would I want my boss or supervisors to know I’m looking for other work asking for LORs
I just hate that requirement. It sucks
