Are Crew's iOS and Google Specific?

Me and a few other friends decided to finally make a crew. Everyone was able to join, except for one person. Everyone who joined has an iPhone, while the one person who couldn't find the crew is on a Samsung. Are crew's platform specific, or is there something else I'm missing here?
