In need of a job asap, and considering moving across the US to find opportunities. Likely going to need something retail or similar for short term, hoping to later lean on my JavaScript experience for long term. Wondering if Raleigh's job market is favorable or not before I commit to moving.
Post Body

My situation's a bit complicated, so to skip right to the important part:

I've found myself in a situation where I'm going to need to move somewhere asap, likely staying at a cheap extended stay hotel while I scramble to find something in retail, fast food, or otherwise where I can get hired asap and at least start pulling in some amount of cash to keep me afloat while I search for a more serious long-term solution.

I figure moving to a city would be the obvious solution, but I wouldn't want to pick a location where the job market is already plenty saturated; I don't really have time to wait for the "perfect" job.

I've narrowed my list of options to three cities, with Raleigh being one of them. That said however, for those of you familiar with the job market:

  1. How easy should it be to find something retail, fast food, warehouse, or similar starting as immediately as possible? (And if you happen to know, roughly how much an hour would your typical retail store offer?)

  2. While I've heard a lot about how Raleigh is great for software developers, is the market still favorable to developers, or has it become saturated and difficult to compete in?

I realize to a certain extent these questions might be answered with enough research on the right sites, but to be honest, I've been spending so much time comparing climates, crime rates, cost of living, rent, etc. for a list of over a dozen cities... I'm mentally burnt out, and I don't have much time left to make a decision.

That said, thank you for your time.
