This latest executive order aimed at our immigrant population needs to be addressed and known about. Just passed today it allows for the deportation of all illegal immigrants not just the ones who have commited crimes. It expands the jurisdiction of the ICE to include local police forces who can detain anyone not legally allowed here and hold them until they are deported. Maybe it will be your neighbor, someone who works at your local market, some people you play soccer with at the park. This is not just going to affect us socially but also economically. The majority of immigrants that I know came here for a better life and are hard working members of our society that want more for their families . The Triangle has a strong and proud immigrant population. People that make up the backbone of our society and want what we all want, an opportunity to prosper.
