How do you teach your kids about stranger danger without scaring them away from everyone?
Post Body

I have a 3 year old daughter and 4 year old son. My son is already very reticent about strangers, but my daughter shows strong signs of ADHD and one of those symptoms is fearlessness and lack of caution with strangers. When they each had a tonsilloadenoidectomy last year, the nurse held out her hand and said, "Do you want to go smell candy?" My daughter grabbed her hand, said, "Yep!" and walked off with her without a backwards glance. She'll see someone behind us in line and start talking to them. I'm certain if someone said, "Do you want to go with me?" She'd say, "Yep" and walk off.

Are there any good books that talk about this? Or any advice you can give me? I'll bring the possibility of ADHD up with her pediatrician at her next appointment.
