I'm coming to terms lately that my upbringing went from exploitive to neglectful. It's only as a parent now that I realized the inconsistent treatment was so off and what exactly it was. I look back on my behavior, esp in my teens and realize I did so much that I hated in my parents. It is very hard to admit, but I have had a tremendous amount of trouble with regulation and empathy for others. Is this a silly question? I'm so afraid to be like my parents while thinking I'm so different
