Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing as well as possible. I wanted to share something positive that I am currently feeling, in hopes that maybe someone else may find solace in the same way.
My nmom never taught me how to take care of myself in regards to personal hygiene. I am snuggled up in my bed after taking a shower, doing my skincare routine, moisturizing, brushing my teeth, brushing my hair, and getting a glass of water to put on my nightstand.
It feels blissful to take care of myself in these small, seemingly mundane acts. I am not worried that I may smell bad, I am not worried that I may look bad. My skin feels so soft and lightweight. My mouth feels clean and fresh. The blankets glide against my skin.
These feelings have been foreign to me for most of my life and I am reveling in their presence. It took me far too long to come to the realization that my nmom didn't teach me these things. But I am here now, taking care of myself and feeling wonderful. She can't take that away from me.
