hello everyone, im new here as i only recently realized (after 22 years) that my mother is a narcissist. after years of emotional, mental, sometimes physical, and even cyber abuse [on christmas eve] from her, it finally clicked.
as a result, i’m much more aware of how she acts towards other people and it’s very much the same way - “im better than them” mindset - that she acts with me.
my question is how do your NParents (?) act in public? do their tendencies come out when interacting with other people (food service, retail, strangers walking down the street, etc.) or do they hide it?
i end up feeling so bad for whoever helps her and then i internalize that the person views me in the same narcissistic way.
