Finally reached my breaking point with the incubator and her enabler … but they still live in the house

Post Body

On Halloween of 2020 I got into the last fight I had with the people who have chosen to call themselves my parents my entire life. Over my mother screaming at my husband because I moved my keys (for context myself, my husband, my child, and several other family members live together. As in my name is on the lease so we are roommates) to my pocket. My husband had just gotten home from work and had no idea what she was talking about. Normally I don’t do confrontation well but I got in her face and told her that she will not speak to him that way ever again. She cried and told me that I don’t respect her and that I have never respected her and I almost lost it. She walked out of the house to go smoke and my father tried to dismiss her behavior and what she was saying to me again and I held up my hand and told him I don’t want to hear it anymore. I’m not interested. And we haven’t spoken more than single word necessary sentences since. Because of the “hostility” in the house they have decided they want to move out but are dragging their feet. I was so relieved when they said they wanted to move out I almost cried. I don’t want to be around them anymore. If I never spoke with the. Again I would probably be happier than I have ever been in my life. After 28 years of putting up with the verbal and emotional abuse I put my foot down. But for now they are living in the house. So to try and get through this waiting period I am going to therapy (and also to deal with all of that past stuff)
