Jesus Christ, my parents can't stay around each other without getting into an argument. Although mom is the only one who actually starts the argument and gaslights the other person.
You know how most parents choose to have arguments in another room when the child isn't home? Well mine seem like they're doing whatever possible to fight only in the living room and only when I'm around to hear.
I'm 21 and maybe that's why they're not avoiding fights around me anymore but honestly it's stupid. I wanna cry, or yell or take my dad's side and tell mom how fucking manipulative she is. But I did that once already in January and mom not only ignored me for the rest of the evening, but she also argued with me for 2-3 hours the next day for me having taken dad's side. "I wanted a child and sacrificed myself for you, and you take his side??? He's only worked all day ever since you were born, he didn't take care of you!!" Yeah cool, and you haven't worked in 21 years and still refuse working despite me asking you "why didn't you at least get a cashier job at a shop when I was 14 or something?". She always shifts blame and even during that argument she shifted it all on me and made it sound like dad hates me and talks about kicking me out behind my back. And this is why I'm so determined to start working once I'm done with my BA next year. I want to be independent and have nobody shame me for "being a lazy bitch" and staying at home studying.
Anyway. This evening they started fighting about some place they were planning to visit this next week, but mom finds out it's not as cheap as she thought so she tells dad they shouldn't go. He's like ok. And here comes the mindfuck. Mom gets angry af and goes "OH SO YOU'D PAY THAT MONEY FOR YOURSELF IF YOU WENT THERE FISHING BUT IF I WANNA GO IT'S TOO EXPENSIVE??" Dude. You literally said it's expensive. And dad said nothing. I know he spends a lot of money weekly going fishing and not catching anything. But wtf??? She literally just took the words and mixed them up.
She even had the audacity to say "I can't believe you're making me have an argument in front of (insert my name) right now". Wow???
Then she angrily left and went to the kitchen.
I just ignored everything and didn't raise my eyes from my phone, since I didn't want to get into another argument.
The good end only applies on my part though. I'm going to the seaside for a week with my bff and her family starting tomorrow, early morning :D It'll be relaxing being in a quiet place.
