My ‘fear’ of mice is my absolute worst fear.
When I was 11, I saw a mouse scurrying around my basement. I ran upstairs to tell my parents, and my nDad screamed at me for 30 min about how I was lying and how there was no mouse, because the exterminator had, coincidentally, left about 20 minutes before I saw the mouse. I was hysterically sobbing; snot everywhere, begging him to go downstairs and look and just believe me, and he finally relented. He, of course, saw the mouse immediately, and didn’t apologize. Actually, he then told me it wasn’t a mouse, it was a shrew. As if an 11 year old would know.
Ever since then, 9 years later, I’ve had a horrible fear of mice. I’m terrified of the even thought of mice, and I have dreams about seeing them in my house. Well, I realized that they’re not actually terrifying to me, it’s just that I’m terrified of getting screamed at and linked mice to one of the worst memories of my preteens.
Send me pictures and videos of your mice doing mouse things and being cute. :)
