I really feel like my mom is sabotaging me.

Yay, job hunting!...not. I graduated last year and I do have a job, but it's not in my field and I don't plan to stick with it long-term. I don't really want to go into too much detail but basically my mom kind of oversees it and pushed/guilted me into it, and I don't feel like I can leave without it being a huge fight, right now.

Anyway, I am currently looking for outside work, but of course my mom has to butt her nose in and make sure SHE deems it the right thing to do. She's really been on my case about grad school, but I don't think I want to do more school (the money isn't an issue, but it would mean probably living with her even longer). She keeps trying to act like she wants to help but then she gets offended when I don't listen, even though it's MY life.

I should probably mention that I have a lot of social anxiety and I don't think well on my feet, so the few interviews I've had haven't really gone well, and I haven't gotten any job offers. I couldn't even seem to get a volunteer job in my actual field! Having my mom loom over the whole thing really isn't helping, though. I wish I could just move to another state. I tried mentioning that to her (because she was complaining that I don't talk to her about things beyond a superficial level) and she told me she didn't think I have the drive to get work elsewhere and that really hurt. I've often felt that way myself but hearing it from someone who's supposed to be supportive was awful.

...I had more of a point I was going to get to but just typing all of this out made me forget it. Sorry.

Anyway, I mostly posted this just to rant but if you can relate at all, please feel free to share. It might help me feel a little better.
