This was my first Christmas without my nmom. I decided to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with my own husband and kids and we did Christmas dinner at my dad and step moms. During the entire visit not once did she say anything belittling, ask any embarrassing questions, poke fun at any of us. She asked questions about our interests, our life, and every thing she said and did felt caring. She loved on my baby, changed her diapers without asking, held and played with her all night, fed her a bottle and put her to bed. My heart is so broken- this is what a mom is supposed to be. I wish she was my mom, and I know in a way she is.... or at least sheβs a real grandma for my kids.
