So my biological dad was mentally abusive, so we left him like 5 years ago. I had some interaction with him still, until Chrismas 2016, and that was the last time I talked to or saw him until today. I have needed to start driving for a while to help my family and get a job and have been unable to even start drivers ed (I turn 16 in November) so I finally approached him for help. We sat down at a coffee shop to talk, and long story short he denied to help in any real way. I told him the situation, that my mom's health is failing and she can't get a job, my stepdad is going to a shitty school through the VA because they pay him to go back to school, and he works whatever jobs he can (he got medically discharged from the military with 100% disability, so he can't do much). That leaves me to take care of the house, my sisters, my mom, and my schooling. Our local ballet teacher is very generously teaching me under a scholarship because I am looking to go into dance as an early life career, so I'm there 6 days a week 4 hours a day, so I am fucking swamped. So I pretty desperately need to be able to drive because it's hard enough on my parents to drive me to class every day, plus whatever doctors appointments my mom has, and errands. They can't be trying to get me to a job on top of it. Anyway, I talked to my biological dad and despite the fact he has a well-paying job, leather recliners, 50 inch TV, tons of animals (chickens, goats, dogs, etc.) which are all expensive to keep and he is not making any money off of, and the fact I know he goes to festivals and concerts constantly and travels a ton, he told me he couldn't help in any way. Best he said he would do is sell me his second car for like $750 less than it's worth (he got it for free from a friend, years ago) and that was it. Anyway yeah. Sorry for the rant, I just needed to vent. All that stress of re-opening communication with someone who makes my stomach churn to think about for absolutely fucking nothing. I could have gotten a car for the same price as he was offering without all the fucking stress. Anyway. If you read this far, thank you :)
