Now your friends will see what a brat you are!
Post Body

This was very common in my house, and probably why many of my friends never wanted to come over to visit. It would start out with a friend of mine coming over, then NMom would say, "Why are you friends with them? They seem very slow and 'duuuuuuuuuuh' when I talk to them." She described every friend of mine this way, and would often find a reason to punish me when friends were over, so I would disappear and come back crying after being spanked and she would tell my friends I was acting like a brat and it was a lesson for them to learn about how to respect parents.

It was always my fault, I was an awful kid who needed to learn a lesson, even though I never got in trouble at school and made good grades. I was taught that my friends were bad influences with bad parents who would be hooked on drugs and having babies at 15.

I was adopted, and I was convinced my birth mother died when I was young, so my friend and I had a "seance" when I was 11. My mother listened in for a while until she slammed on the door almost giving myself and my friend a heart attack, then swung it open and grabbed me by the hair and had my father spank me. When we got back to my bedroom, she made me explain to my friend that I was being a brat and I needed to learn a lesson.

I didn't have many repeat friends come over. I wonder why!
