So I posted last week (I have no idea how to link it. Sorry) about how my Aunt and Uncle on my NMom's side assumed they were invited to my wedding. After hemming and hawing about how to nicely tell them no, you are not coming, I finally did it. I sent a text last night and got a reply this morning.
Me: We've decided to make the wedding just immediate family and a few very, very close friends. We know you wanted to celebrate the day with us and we really hope you come to out reception in a few weeks (we don't have a date set for that yet but it'll probably be after finals)
Aunt: I would think your aunt and uncle and cousin would qualify as immediate family but ok. Hope your day is wonderful.
I know she's upset and I feel guilty. I know she really wanted to come and I am trying to rekindle a relationship with that side of the family. At the same time my cousin (who is very much an N) was never even implied to be welcome. There was a reason why my invites to my place for events like Thanksgiving were for Aunt and Uncle and not cousin. I just have so many conflicting feelings running around right now.
