Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are pretty common childhood fair, and for the longest time (well maybe not the longest, until I was 5 or 6), I actually enjoyed them. I mean those little fuckers are pretty tasty when accompanied with a tall glass of cold milk. Well, around the time when I first started elementary school, I was sitting out on the back porch eating lunch: [can you guess?] a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich! and I was enjoying it with my glass of milk. If you've ever had peanut butter you'll know that it's consistency can make you pretty thirsty, so in the process of eating my sandwich I ended up drinking all of my milk. In comes nMom, smiling in her narcissistic glory, and asks:
nMom How is your lunch emptyteaspoon me It's good, but can I have some more milk? nMom Not until you finish your sandwich...
Well, that's all well and good. I try to finish the sandwich but it my throat was getting too dry. So I plead with Ma' again.
me Can I please have some more milk or water? nMom [glaring] NOT UNTIL YOU FINISH YOUR SANDWICH! me But it's too dry without milk. nMom EAT YOUR F'ING SANDWICH! me [crying] [continues eating sandwich]
She made me eat another sandwich after I finished that one because I was being ungrateful... To this day I still don't really like peanut butter. Anyone else have weird/harsh experiences with Ns and food? [edit: formatting]
