I was at a rock concert a few weeks ago looking forward to seeing my all time favorite band. One of the opening bands is called Sonata Artica. I was enjoying their set but the last song resonated a bit with me and I haven't been able to get it out of my head. It's called "I Have a Right". Here are the lyrics that hit me.

It's hard to put into words to explain why the song won't leave me but I think it has to do with my Nmom denying in a lot of ways those rights. It's taken years for me to feel like I have the right to be heard, to be seen and mostly importantly to be loved. Makes me wonder if Tony Kakko, the lead singer of SA, was raised by narcs.
