I searched for a post on this subreddit regarding the character Sebastian Debeste from the second Ace Attorney Investigations game. I could not find one. Now, "Sebastian Debeste" is the name from the fan translation because that game has yet to receive an international localization.
When I played that game's fan translation, I was still stuck at my parents' house. Oh, my, did it resonate with me.
Sebastian is treated like absolute crap by his father. His father did everything for him and made him "an elite student" as a means of treating him like garbage. Sebastian soon realizes that everything he knew was a lie, and in a panic, he tries to do investigating on his own. Sebastian's father is an awful criminal, and after Sebastian finds what he needs to take his father down in court, he's able to stand up to his father with support from Miles Edgeworth.
Most of the characters end up forced to leave the courtroom, leaving Sebastian to prosecute his father alone. You don't see Sebastian finish prosecuting his father, though there is a line about how "Sebastian is becoming reliable" after the other characters are forced to leave him.
That "reliable" line was a real trigger because my mother liked to complain about people who weren't "reliable," including a "friend" who I had in my life through my family's strange confines.
Has anyone who has played this game had any feelings regarding this character and/or his father?
