Lying to Get My Attention After Going No Contact?
Post Body

Iā€™ve been NC with my nmom for 2 ish months. Long story short, she defends my GC sibling to no end even if itā€™s at my expense. My thoughts ā€¦ ruminations really, were becoming suicidal, and when I expressed all of this to her, the moment turned into a DARVO situation that I couldnā€™t emotionally tolerate/manage at the time. (Iā€™m in therapy & okay)

Even though itā€™s only been 2 months or so, I am constantly told by other relatives that my nmom is ā€œworriedā€ about me, and wants to know where I am all the time. I never buy into it.

Lately, Iā€™ve been getting sporadic text messages from her ā€” which is rare. They always hold the same passive aggressive tone which I interpret as an attempt to get me to react/ DARVO me into being a villain in her (fabricated) story. Additionally, she is starting to include more and more lies in these texts than normal. Sheā€™s always been able to use super ridiculous accusations against me to get the reaction sheā€™s looking for bc she knows my knee-jerk response is to defend myself, even if it turns into a shouting match.

Through therapy, Iā€™ve learned to not be so reactive, and my nmomā€™s lying doesnā€™t significantly bother me anymore, mainly bc I know itā€™s just attention/reaction seeking that Iā€™m above.

Iā€™m just curious to know, specifically, whether the behaviors in line with NPD/habitual lying is a common behavior others have seen with their narcissist person.
