fathet hung up on me when I told him to stop treating me like a teenager
Post Body

Today my dad (M54) went off on me (M25) about how I haven't proved to him that I graduated college. I was very confused. I'm starting a brand new job on Monday that REQUIRES a bachelors and have held a few other jobs with the same requirement. I never paid for a paper diploma and I didn't have the opportunity to walk due to Covid. But I sent him my final transcript at the end of school showing him my last grades. All this was about a year ago. Today he just blew up about it. My father has a history of bullying me to get his way. "Go to this or that" or he'll be very angry and spiteful towards me if I don't. He demanded a paper diploma today and I just simply refused. For some reason I decided today was the day I stood up and let him know I'm not Bowing over. Honestly if he was much nicer if have paid 60 bucks and mailed him a copy to his door. So I called him after seeing this series of texts and I asked him to just hear me out and I said you've been treating me like a high schooler for a long time and I'm 25, it needs to stop. He immediately said I'm too sensitive and get butt hurt too easily. Said I obviously lied about graduating and basically to go fuck myself and hung up on me. I have to say it felt great to tell him what's on my mind even if he just wrote it off. At this point I'm just gonna ignore him and let him believe what he wants. He sent a passive aggressive text to me hours later to tell me to not call him until I admit the "truth" -- can't wait to ignore him
