Seeing people get weirdly defensive over a homophobic joke

It was the 2000s people. Random homophobic jokes were really common in some our favourite media. It's okay to be critical about it. We move on, we learn. It wasn't even the funniest joke in the movie so it really doesn't matter if it's kept in every showing of the movie or not.
