A static blog in an existing rails app?

I have a deployed app for my personal site here: josharonoff.com

It's running on heroku. I want to add a blog with the header and footer partials staying the same but adding middle content. I'd like it to be static so I can post the txt files to Dropbox or wherever.

Looked into bloggy, couldn't figure it out. Then I looked at middleman. That may work.

I don't wanna have the blog section control the entire app, if that makes sense.

Ps. I'm somewhat of a n00b at all this. Eli5, pls.
