Hey everyone!
Welcome to Weekly Update 131. For this update, we’ll be looking into the features of the RaidenMap and compare a bit to those of the Raiden explorer. We’ll also briefly go into the GitHub progress and wrapping up of the features added for the Raiddit submission to The Great Reddit Scaling Bake-Off. Let’s dive in!
RaidenMap
RaidenMap is a community built Raiden Network explorer. It collects and stores metrics from the Raiden Network which can then be analyzed through a web interface. Development of the RaidenMap started in early 2019 while the first release came out this month.
The core features of the RaidenMap are very similar to the ones of the Raiden Explorer. It provides an overview of the registered token networks (currently DAI and WETH) and active addresses and channels inside them. However, it also provides additional information such as price overview and the latest news from social media.
You can find RaidenMap by following this link. The creators are currently looking for ways to improve the RaidenMap so, if you have any feedback, you can leave your comment here.
Development progress
Maintenance and refactoring was the primary focus of the Raiden development team during the last week. While they were busy working on the Reddit scaling bake-off submission, the new releases for the several important packages came out. These needed to be tested and updated on the Raiden side.
Furthermore, planning of future milestones is also in progress. With the Raiden development team being more oriented towards outside feature requests, it became increasingly hard to prioritize tasks. Once planning is done we will update everyone with a list of new features to be expected in the short to mid term.
Conclusion
That’s everything we have for you this week. If you have feedback on RaidenMap then be sure to leave a comment on the Reddit thread. If you have feedback or you’re more curious about Raiden Network overall then please don’t hesitate to leave a comment, we’ll get back to you the best we can.
Cheers!
