What sucks is even then the kid might not be immediately removed. I was a social worker and there were a few times where families requested the kids to be removed from their home, but due to not having any other placements they would have to stay there until something opened up, some distant family came into the picture or a facility opened up. It’s absolutely gut wrenching to see.
