I know it's been awhile since I've posted. Most are probably relieved about that, but I felt like I needed to update you fine folks on my trials and tribulations of becoming an RC Pilot.
So I've been back to work, which hasn't given me much opportunity to fly the Gamma, however, the other night I took the dog for a walk and "taxied" the plane as we walked. Just needed to use it, even if it didn't fly. One thing I did discover, I'd make a hell of an RC car driver.
Yesterday though the weather was great and I found myself sneaking home early to hit the friendly skies.
I have practiced a lot on the Clearview simulator and apparently it has paid off. I got much more "air time" and less prop changing times. Only went through 3 this time. Landing is clearly not my strong suit.
I found out I need to find a larger field, as once I got airborne I kept to flying in circles to avoid having to climb any trees.
With that being said I was successful in actually performing a few loops, one in which my landing gear actually "swept" the ground and continued back up in the air. Even though it was by complete accident, I took mental credit for it.
My wife did take some video, but each lasts about 7 seconds as she was also holding the dogs leash. I'm not going to bore you with even posting them.
Just wanted to check in and give an update and another word of thanks to all the folks on this sub who have helped me along the way.
Tomorrow is looking to be another odd beautiful day here in the northeast, so I plan on getting back out there again.
Hope everyone has a great holiday (whichever one it is you celebrate) and again, thanks!
