Had neck surgery last week so I've been laid up and going nuts. This was something I have always wanted to do so I figured no better time than the present.
I have spent hours watching videos on YouTube and reading posts on this subject in search of answers, and either my child-like excitement has allowed me to miss the answers or my ADD has noticed a random squirrel. Either way I do have some questions that maybe someone could answer for me.
First flight. I live down the street from a school that I thought would be ideal to pop my cherry at, however would I be better at finding a largest open field instead?
Also, is it better to take off and land on pavement, or is grass more ideal?
My maiden flight I plan on focusing on circles and figure 8's to get the feel and also a ton off take off and landings to gain confidence. Although this model has a 4 ch upgrade I am just going to stick with the 3ch until I feel comfortable. Good or bad idea?
I live north of Boston and have searched for clubs but most I have found seem to be for more advanced pilots with bigger planes. I don't want to feel like the kid that is bothering everyone with a bunch of noob questions and mistakes. Is anyone aware of local clubs that cater to the novice "pilot"?
Also, I believe because my plane has an electric engine there are very few restrictions as to where I can fly it, is that true or is there more I need to know?
I appreciate you taking the time to read my wall of text. Feel free to PM me with suggestions or other information, or just post them here.
As you can probably tell, I am very excited about my latest adventure. Thanks in advance for any help you can pass on.
